Guidelines for Little Pints

Policies for Children at the Brewery

We love that our open air beer garden continues to be a popular spot for young families in our community, but this is primarily a 21+ relaxation space and children must not interfere with the comfort of the guests around them. Treating our garden like you would a restaurant patio is a great rule-of-thumb for ensuring a great stay!

Please view our garden like you would a restaurant patio. Minors must remain seated with you, and those under age 10, must be accompanied by an adult (21+) at all times when moving about the garden. Trips to the bathroom or water tap by minors under the age of 10 should not be done alone.

NOTE: Some children, particularly between the ages of 4 and 10, may find sitting at the table for the duration of your stay especially difficult. Please use your best judgement and recognize your particular child’s needs when making a decision about whether our space is right for the whole family. We are located in a wonderful downtown, so consider bringing extra help or having an adult take a few minutes to bring your kids on a nice walk for ice cream, bubble tea, or shopping. When all else fails, date nights are also awesome here 😉

This one bears repeating. Children are not permitted to wander around the beer garden on their own. This includes running to another area of the garden to play, using open spaces for tag, playing on the stage, running or playing in between other guests or on walkways. If you have a little one who wants to explore, that is perfectly ok, but you must explore with them. Children found without parents will be asked to return to their table. If traveling children continue to be a problem, a beer attendant will politely draw your attention to these guidelines. If behavior cannot be resolved, you will be asked to leave. Please, please, please, for the love of God, don’t make us have to do that.

We have an adults only section at the front of the beer garden. It is clearly noted with a sign. There are no minors permitted in that space – no infants, no strollers, no exceptions, please. Guests in that area are looking for a kid-free experience and we will consistently protect that choice. Our main beer garden space is very generously sized.

Minors are also not permitted to enter the taproom bar area or place an order without an adult present, please.

If you have minors in your party and your entire party exceeds one table, an adult must be present at all tables. We know how temping it is to have an adults only table and relegate all the little ones to a “kids table,” but we require that all minors be supervised personally by an adult at all times.

We also know that kids come with a lot of “stuff,” but it is not ok to use a table for storage. Please tuck any belongings under your own table, allowing other guests to use the tables nearby.

Some of our seating areas include open spaces or are adjacent to open spaces. Children are permitted to sit on the ground/blanket with games, toy, etc. However, there is no running, chasing, tag, horseplay, or gymnastics of any kind permitted in the garden. Again, think restaurant patio not playground and all will be well.
  • No screaming or shrieking
  • Shoes must stay on!
  • Please refrain from the use of sport balls, Frisbees, planes/flighted toys
  • Absolutely no standing on or jumping off furniture or fences.

There is a playground located at Muriel Hepner Nature Park, a 2-minute drive from the brewery, if you’d like to give the kids a little time to stretch their legs.

Please do not color on the furniture, pavers, or fence. And, we recognize that this one is hard to resist, but please do not dig, throw, or move the rocks – this is our “floor” and moving stones will not only create a mess, it could create a tripping hazard for other guests.

  • No Throwing Rocks into the air or at anyone or anything
  • No digging holes or building rock castles (i.e. trip hazards)
  • Do not pile rocks on tables, chairs, or benches
  • Do not use our cups / glassware as rock scoops

At the end of the bar, you’ll find our self-serve water tap. This is a high-traffic space, so please watch little ones. Feel free to help yourself to our water station throughout your stay as needed (this water can also be used to fill dog bowls). Children under age 10 should not go back and forth or operate the water tap without an adult.

We do not have activities for children in our beer garden. We do have “Wiki Sticks” available for your table upon request. We also offer kids soda flights – choose 3 flavors to try.

Get comfy! The longer you intend to stay in the beer garden, the more prudent it is to be sure your children are occupied and comfortable for a long stay at your table. Picnic blankets and favorite tabletop toys or activities from home are welcome!

Those not following these guidelines will be warned, directed to review the Guidelines for Little Pints; and if behavior cannot be resolved, asked to leave. Please do not make us have that conversation. Our beer garden is meant to be a relaxing space for all guests — so please help us keep it that way.
